This Privacy Policy describes how DATACDL ("we", "our", "us"), operated by DATA Industries (DATA Industries Hub), handles information when you create an account, study on the platform, purchase memberships, or contact support. By using DATACDL, you agree to the practices described here.

DATACDL is an independent educational platform. This Privacy Policy covers privacy practices only and does not change the government-affiliation disclaimer described in our Government Information Sources page.

DATACDL is an independent educational platform. DATACDL and DATA Industries Hub are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the U.S. Department of Transportation, any state Department of Motor Vehicles, or any other federal, state, or local government agency. DATACDL does not issue commercial driver’s licenses, learner’s permits, government certifications, or official examination results. Requirements, fees, forms, manuals, testing procedures, and regulations can change. Users should verify all information directly with the appropriate official government agency before taking action.

• Account information — email address, name (if provided), optional phone number if you save it on your profile, authentication identifiers, and profile settings you choose to save.
• Sign-in providers — if you choose Continue with Google, we receive account identifiers from Google (such as your Google account email and basic profile details needed to create or link your DATACDL account). You can also sign in with email.
• Study and progress data — assessment results, study module progress, simulation scores, quiz answers associated with your sessions, and certificate records linked to your account when you are signed in.
• Payment information — subscription and purchase status, plan type, and billing identifiers from Stripe (web) and/or Google Play Billing (Android). Card numbers for web checkout are processed by Stripe; Google Play purchases are billed by Google. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.
• Support communications — messages and contact details you submit through Support or feedback forms.
• Technical data — device/browser type, IP address, and basic usage or diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the service (including hosting and authentication providers).

• Provide, maintain, and improve the DATACDL platform.
• Authenticate users and sync progress across devices when signed in.
• Process memberships, Founding Member purchases, and Premium subscriptions.
• Respond to support requests and send service-related notices.
• Protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Web payments are handled by Stripe, Inc. under Stripe's terms and privacy practices. Android digital purchases and subscriptions use Google Play Billing and are billed and managed by Google under Google Play's policies. We receive limited entitlement and billing metadata (such as payment or subscription status, plan identifiers, purchase tokens or order references, and customer references) needed to activate memberships and provide account support.

We use service providers to operate DATACDL, including authentication and database hosting (Supabase), application hosting, email/support tooling, Google (optional Google Sign-In), Stripe (web payments), and Google Play (Android billing). These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us.

Account and application data are stored using industry-standard cloud infrastructure. We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information in transit (HTTPS) and at rest where provided by our vendors, but no system is completely secure.

DATACDL uses browser local storage and similar technologies to remember your theme preference, keep you signed in, and cache study progress for faster loading. You can clear site data through your browser settings, which may sign you out or reset local progress until your account syncs again.

We retain account and progress data while your account is active. If you confirm account deletion while signed in, we remove or anonymize personal data as soon as the request completes (typically within a few minutes). Email deletion requests sent to support are processed as soon as practicable and generally within 30 days. Some records may be retained where required for legal, tax, billing, or fraud-prevention purposes.

• Manage Premium subscriptions from Account — Stripe Customer Portal for web purchases, or Google Play Subscriptions for Play Store purchases.
• Delete your account in-app from Account → Delete Account, or review the full process on our Delete Account page (https://www.datacdl.com/delete-account). You may also email support@datacdl.com to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data.

DATACDL is intended for users preparing for commercial driver study who meet the minimum age requirements that apply in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support@datacdl.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version. Continued use of DATACDL after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
